Trophies and high praise at Nissan’s regional LEGO Robotics competition

A group of talented Emmanuel students recently represented the school at the regional LEGO Robotics competition held at Nissan, competing against teams from across the region.

The Emmanuel Robotics Team demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and creativity, and their hard work paid off when they won the knockout competition, achieving the highest score across the three days of competitions.

The team’s innovation and engineering expertise were also recognised with the Best Robot Design Award; the judges were highly impressed not only by the technical quality of the robot but also by the students’ ability to present and explain their work.  One judge commented: “In all the years I have been involved, I have never seen a better presentation!”

Beyond their competitive success, the Emmanuel students were also praised for their character and sportsmanship.  During the award ceremony, the team received a special mention for helping other schools that were struggling with the coding and the robot design challenges.  Teachers from other schools and the staff at Nissan described Emmanuel students as polite and helpful – they were amazing ambassadors for the school.

The celebrations did not stop there.  Mr Thomas was recognised for his leadership and dedication, receiving a coach award for his outstanding support of the team throughout the competition.

Congratulations to the Emmanuel Robotics Team and Mr Thomas on an outstanding achievement!
