Communication between parents and college
It is very important to us that we work closely in partnership with parents and carers, and communication is key. We recognise it can be difficult communicating with teachers because they have a very full timetable; and parents and carers also have very busy lives.
Staff will respond to parental queries at the earliest opportunity. If you urgently need to speak to someone, for instance if there is a serious family emergency or a safeguarding issue, please phone and the reception staff will do their best to find a senior member of staff to speak with you.
For non-urgent matters, we will aim to respond within five working days. The school will determine the level of urgency at its discretion, to enable it to manage multiple demands. If you have not received a response from the school within five working days please email enquiries@emmanuelctc.org.uk and we will follow up your enquiry.
How we will contact you
Depending on the nature and urgency of the query or issue, we will contact you via either telephone or email.
We additionally use our website, the weekly newsletter and X, Instagram and LinkedIn to promote student achievements and share information.
Student Planner
Notes in student planners are by far the best way to get a message to a teacher promptly and should be used for the majority of everyday communication with either a teacher or tutor. The student is responsible for showing the note to the correct teacher.
Telephone
If you require a more detailed conversation with a member of teaching staff you can call reception to be transferred to the voicemail of the teacher so that you may leave them a message with brief details of your enquiry.
For matters relating to pastoral care, student welfare or special educational needs, and which do not relate to a single subject or teacher, you can use the email contact form available here on our website to request a telephone call or email response from those specialist teams.
Meeting
All meetings should always be pre-arranged with members of staff.
