High flying students have achieved record breaking results at Emmanuel College, in Gateshead.
We are delighted with another very strong set of GCSE results at Emmanuel College. Emmanuel students continued our track record of outstanding GCSE results and have improved on almost every significant attainment and progress measure from 2023.
A raft of students achieved at least ten top grade 9s with some students scoring 100% in some subjects. The top performer was Ava Hindson with 11 grade 9s and an L2 Distinction.
Meanwhile Rosie Ma was also celebrating top grades. As well as getting 100% in English Literature and 11 grade 9s and one grade 8 this year, Rosie Ma studied Maths A Level in Year 10 last year and got an A*. She achieved a grade 9 in her further maths GCSE this year having completed her maths GCSE in Year 5.
Other students achieving exceptional grades were:
- Devrim Celikay with ten grade 9s, one L2 D* and one grade 8
- Nooralzahraa Alsudany with nine grade 9s, one L2 D* and one grade 8
- Edward Allan with ten grade 9s and two grade 8s
- Giana Joshy with nine grade 9s and two grade 8s
- Maria Waite with ten grade 9s, one grade 8 and one grade 7
James Cumming also achieved 100% in English Literature and Maria Waite enjoyed a perfect score in French.
Seventeen students achieved an average grade of a 9 or above and a third of students have an average grade of a 7 or above. Eighty-five per cent of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English and maths with 74% achieving grade 5 or above in the key subjects.
