Carol Service 2018 – ‘Born on Christmas Day’
Our annual Carol Service at City Hall, Newcastle, was a memorable night. Year 7s were excellent singing ‘Emmanuel’ and ‘Born on Christmas Day’, with three brave Year 7s taking solos. The music was of the highest quality, from the beautiful Senior Choir number ‘Glow’ to ‘When Hope Came Down’ arranged and sung by Beth Calvert, Rebecca Iceton and Ellen Weaver. The orchestra delighted us with an arrangement of Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’, and the speakers were outstanding: Aidan Szpak and Kirk Boyd’s delivery of John 1 was a particular highlight. We extend our sincere thanks to Maurice McCracken from Christ Church Liverpool for his rousing address. The retiring collection raised over £600 for College charities. Thank you to all of those who performed or who attended this sold-out event; it was a wonderful night for our Emmanuel community.
