Emmanuel College Celebrates Strong A-Level Results and Exciting University Destinations

Emmanuel College in Gateshead is thrilled to announce another year of outstanding A-Level results, reflecting the hard work and dedication of both students and staff. The results continue to uphold the college’s tradition of academic excellence, with students achieving impressive grades across the board.

This year’s average A-Level points per entry stands at a remarkable 39.14, equivalent to a grade B. Vocational courses also saw strong performance, with an average of 37.72 points per entry, equivalent to a Distinction. Notably, 34.1% of A-Level grades were A*/A and 68.5% of grades were A*-B. Nearly half of the cohort (47.4%) achieved the points equivalent of AAB or above, highlighting the college’s commitment to academic excellence.

Many students achieved exceptional results, with two students earning A*s in all their A-Level subjects and seven others securing a mix of As and A*s. Additionally, two students achieved the top grade of Triple Distinction* in their vocational courses, and 15 others earned equivalent to 3 As or more. Collectively, these students represent 22% of the cohort.

As students eagerly anticipate their next steps, Emmanuel College is proud to report that as of this morning, 97 students, out of 110 who applied to university, have already secured their firm or insurance offer, 95 being accepted into their firm. This includes many prestigious Russell Group universities.

The college is particularly proud to celebrate the achievements of five students who have secured places at Oxford or Cambridge, the largest number in recent years. Daniel Green will be studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge, Catherine Harness will be studying Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Cambridge, Lucy Waterfield will be studying Classics and French at Oxford and Yehor Mikhno will be studying English at Cambridge. Poppy McElrue-Inch will be studying Physics at Oxford.

In addition to these successes, the college has seven confirmed future medics. Furthermore, a quarter of students who studied BTEC Business or BTEC Science, alongside other Sixth Form courses, have secured university offers, showcasing the diverse pathways available at Emmanuel College.

With 10 students set to pursue Engineering and six heading into Pharmacy, the future is bright for Emmanuel College’s Class of 2024. The college community looks forward to supporting all students as they finalise their university placements and embark on the next exciting chapter of their academic journeys.
