Performing Arts: Derwent and Team House dazzle their way to the top!

Wednesday 10 May 2023

The Creative Arts Auditorium was the venue for our talented singers, instrumentalists, dancers and bands as the House Performing Arts Competition returned after a three-year break.  The audience and judges were completely wowed by the talent of our students and, of course, the compering talents of our Head Boy, Alex Stoves.

The winner of the Year 7-9 competition was Hannah Clarke from Team House who performed Set Fire to the Rain by Adele with such skill and emotional conviction.  The competition in Years 7-9 was so closely fought that there was only one point between first, second and third place.  Pandon’s Blazers (Arthur Gledhill, Elliott Gledhill and Dylan D’Silva) finished second and Leia Younger for Pandon claimed third place.

The overall winner in Years 10-13 competition was dancer Adam Stephenson (Team House), who performed a tap, ballet and contemporary dance medley.

Derwent House were crowned overall House winners, just going to show that every point and every performance counts.  Well done to all the competitors!
