Polished performances in Poetry & Prose

This week saw another outstanding House event where students delivered poems, prose and speeches in the House Poetry and Prose competition. The Year 7 audience was captivated by prose passages from Year 7, recitals of poems from Year 8, and powerful speeches from Year 9 on the theme: ‘What one thing would you change about our world?’ Special congratulations to Matthew Wright, the Year 7 winner from Romans House, who was also voted overall Public Speaking winner by the judges. Year 8 winner Scarlett Riffert’s recital of William Blake’s Tyger and Year 9 winner Dylan Reay’s insightful speech on Anxiety Awareness were the top performances for Corinthians. The event was won by Corinthians House, who also won the Performing Arts Competition this year.
