Personal Development

Our curriculum intent: why we teach what we teach in Personal Development

  • Students will learn about what it means to live healthy lives, physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. They will learn skills in safeguarding themselves and in building healthy relationships with others.  They will learn about various pathways and career options available to them and what they will need to do to succeed. They will learn about character virtues as well as rights and responsibilities that we have as we grow up.
  • Students will be able to listen to a range of views and consider their own position.  Explain their point of view whilst showing consideration and respect of people with different ideas and views.  They will be able to demonstrate their application of virtues in their behaviour and in the choices they make.
  • Students will become reflective individuals engaged in a broad range of activities that enable them to make purposeful steps towards their future goals.  They will develop their resilience showing their strength to overcome difficulties.
